And now the news we’ve been waiting for… Callie Dawn was finally born this morning at 3 am to parents Jen and Doug, weighing 7 lbs 2 oz. Doug reports that he survived the ordeal without passing out. Mom and baby are doing well. Cute baby photo follows.
A. Increase to working weight on the following barbell complex, then do 3 (total) sets at that weight: 4 press + 4 push press + 4 push jerk.
B. 3 rounds, not for time:
5 weighted pullups with slow negative
8 DB bench press
8 BB lunges
In all three movements, try to increase the weight from last week.
Congrat Jen and Doug, and Welcome Callie Dawn!
Yay!! Congrats Doug and Jen! Crossfit babies here she comes!
Congrats Doug and Jen!
Woo hoo! Congrats Jen and Doug (especially on Doug not passing out!)
Thanks everyone, we are all doing great so far.

awhhhhh!!! what a sweetie pie, she is beautiful!!! congrats doug and jen, so grateful all went well 🙂
Congrats Doug and Jen.
A) tried 85#, made it through 1 and a half sets but then had to go down to 80#. should have only dropped to 82.5# since the 80# felt light. Oh well. Next time.
B) pull-ups – 5 sec negatives. No weight. One day. 35# DB bench press. tried 40# but could only do it for 5 reps. 105# for BB lunges – and feeling them today.
A. This one was a beaut. I tried 105 for the first round, then dropped to 100 for the last two sets. I felt this more in the scap area than anywhere else, but that’s been my chronic weakness.
B. 35# for the pullups + negatives. All sets were without coming off the bar.
DB bench press – I used 60#/hand for the first set, then bumped up to 70#/hand, which was still manageable for full sets of 8.
BB lunges – 145 for the first round, then 150 for the second two. I might have been able to do marginally more weight, but not much.
