There is some uncertainty as to when the parking lot will be paved, but they are supposed to be here after lunch today. If the driveway is blocked off, obviously we’ll need to park elsewhere, but until then we’ll play it by ear.
*****Update: The paving will be done tomorrow (Thurs). You can park in the lot as long as you promise not to hit any of the marking stakes.
A. Split jerk – Take 10 minutes to achieve a heavy single, then do 3×2@75% (one rep per set with each leg forward).
B. Weighted pullups – 10×2 every 40 seconds
C. 3 rounds, not for time:
8 DB split squats per leg
ME bench press with bands and KBs
My traps are screaming in anticipation already.
A) 155#, a 10# PR. Very happy with this. Now that I’ve got past the fear of having 150# over my head, my overhead squat should improve immensely.
B) broke down and used the skinny red band for the last half. Which means my pull-ups are slowly getting better. I think the last time we did a work-out like this, I was using the red band from the first two sets in.
C) Highly entertaining as always – for all involved, participants and spectators.
A) 185# which is a huge PR (and matches my push press). I will not call it pretty as I was landing on my front toes and knee was more forward than ideal, but I was happy to drop myself under the bar as quickly as I was. I’ve been really surprised as of late by the number of PR’s I’ve been hitting, either gravity is lower in Steinbach or I’m getting really inspired by the awesome people working around me.
B) Been a while for the Split Lunges…60# each which gave 1/3 BWT in each hand
First time with the KB Bench press drill…used a dowel and did my work sets with 2X25# and the red bands doubled up. 14-20-20 reps. Tried one set with #35’s I didn’t notice too much of a difference other than how much the dowel was bending…Would have liked to try 45#’s but somehow I think that would be past the capacity of the dowel.
