A. Overhead squat – work up to a heavy set of 3.
B. “Annie” – 50-40-30-20-10 reps each of double-unders and situps.
C. 3xME scap pull-ups, push-ups.
I just came across this randomly on youtube. Apparently we shouldn’t be using kettlebells for the Turkish get-up. We should be using a person… upside down… and holding onto only their head. (Ridiculous Turkish get-up video)
Great job today laryssa on your first RX workout! You did awesome!
There were lots of great performances today, and even some PRs from people who have done this workout before.
A. Worked up to 155# for 3 in the OH squat, which while not close to my max, was heavy enough for today. Three weeks ago I was having issues squatting 115, so it’s progress.
B. 6:24 Rx. This is a 24 second PR, but still 12 seconds shy of Hillary’s mark the last time we did this workout. I think my sit-ups were faster this time, and all sets were unbroken. I can’t say the same about the DUs, as the rounds of 40 and 30 had a few misfires.
A. 105#, still.
B. 8:19 Rx’d, a 20 second PR. Was really fun working out with and watching the other 4 pm’ers. Great work, everybody!
Remind me to bring the kids next time we do Turkish get-ups so we have a better weight selection!
It’s a deal. I’ve asked Dylan if he wants to be a TGU weight (not in the manner illustrated in the video), but no dice.
